Health and safety at work actions
The efforts and investments made by cement companies in Occupational Risk Prevention achieved the best results in 2020, the last year with available statistics. The Accident Frequency Rate with Temporary Incapacity (ACIT) of the sector recorded a measurement of 4.53, barely one sixth of that recorded for Industry as a whole, 88% lower than that of the Construction sector and, even, only one third of that recorded in Services.
The Temporary Incapacity Accident Frequency Rate compares the total number of accidents resulting in incapacity for work with the total number of hours worked in a given sector. In the case of the cement sector, this is a result that has improved steadily over the last fifteen years, and which gradually brings the factories closer to the objective of zero accidents.
