Environmental investments
The commitment to protectthe natural environment has been reflected, throughout 2019, with anotable increase (67%) in investmentsto improve the environmental performanceof factories. The more than 6 million euros allocated to new facilities is the highest figure since 2012, and places the total accumulated investments since 1990 at more than 202 million €.
Almost half of the total investmentsin 2019 has been allocated to the implementation of systems to reduce particle emissions into the atmosphere in localized sources (emission by chimney). This strong commitment will allow to further improve the air quality in the neighboring towns of the factories.
The other major area of action, which took almost a quarter of the investments, has been the minimization of the visual impact. Cement factories are large facilities, but companies are intensifying efforts to improve their urban and landscape integration.
