Sustainable developmemt commitment

Making the environmental aspects compatible with the social and economic aspects is a responsibility that the Catalan industry has been doingfor the last decades.

Not only is cement an essential material for the progress of mankind, but its production and use provide solutions to environmental problems (flooding, earthquakes ...), social issues (such as waste management) and economic questions (inducing activity thanks to the construction of all kinds of infrastructure).

Exemples of actions during 2018

  • Environmental strategies

    It has included actions such as the prevention, reduction and control of pollution at the factories, quarries restoration and the battle against climate change by using biomass as a fuel.

  • Social contributions

    Emphasizes the material and energy recovery of industrial and urban waste, the development of products with new thermal and durability features, and the sponsorship of cultural and sports activities.

  • Economics and business

    Promotion of the construction of infrastructure, the reduction of occupational accident rates and the application of the product to develop protection systems against natural disasters.
