Environmental investments

In 2018, the increase in environmental investments has been consolidated with an increase of 28%.

Cement manufacturing entails a high energy consumption (a temperature of 1.500º is needed in the kilns), and this is where significant investment have been destined. The construction and equipment of facilities dedicated to the reception, storage and dosage of waste to be used as alternative fuels has taken 1 out of 3 euros invested in 2018, with a substantial increase of 54% over the year 'previous year.

Also related to energy recovery are both the reduction of particulate emissions into the atmosphere through a fireplace and those linked to energy efficiency. Another third of all environmental investments in 2018 were aimed at these areas.
