In defense of the principles of saving and reusing resources of its associated companies, Ciment Català has been part of the introductory session of the CE Hotspot Catalonia, the event that will bring together experts from around the world in circular economy in Barcelona next year. The event held on November 19 gathered more than 650 attendees online.

The session A taste of Circular Economy Hotspot Catalonia, organized by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability of the Generalitat and ACCIÓ, had as a central part the plenary presentation of John Elkington, founding partner of Volans, an international consultancy specialized in corporate responsibility and development sustainable. Elkington explained the metaphorical concept of Green Swans, understood as companies that are regenerative with the environment, socially just and economically inclusive and that must drive the change towards circularity.

The session continued with a discussion table between professionals from the company and from public administrations in which transformative solutions that are being carried out and that highlight the role of public-private partnerships were presented. The Leading Circular Economy Solutions in Catalonia catalog was also presented, identifying more than 100 innovative circular economy solutions in Catalonia. During the day, a video was shown that included the history of the Circular Economy Hotspots since 2016.

Circular economy hotspots are characterized by the organization of itineraries on the ground to visit circular solutions from different economic sectors and also include high-level conferences aimed at CEOs of companies, as well as representatives of the public sector and research centers and technological. The day ended with the projection of a video that explains the axes on which the edition that we will do here in Catalonia next year will turn. The CE Hotspot Catalonia is conceived as an event that will attract experts from around the world, showcasing successful and transformative public and private initiatives to move towards green recovery.
