Between November 28 and December 1, Ciment Català integrated, once again, the Catalan delegation that participated in the Santiago Circular Economy Hotspot 2023, together with the Department of Climate Action and the Waste Agency of Catalonia . The international event aims to publicize the central axes of the circular economy that each country has been implementing at an environmental, business and social level and, this year, Santiago de Chile has been one of the three headquarters with Ireland (Dublin ) and Nigeria (Lagos). The program consists of visits to industries and circular economy projects in the region, as well as discussions, workshops and exhibitions of good practices.
In this edition, the Agrupació de Fabricants de Ciment de Catalunya had the opportunity to participate as a speaker in a “side event” focused on circular construction in Catalonia, with the Agència de Residus de Catalunya, Gestora de Runes de la Construction, HERCAL DIGGERS S.L., and Eurecat – Technological Center of Catalonia. Ciment Català‘s intervention by the head of Environment, Ana Salgado, highlighted the great commitment of Catalan cement companies to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, while following the Roadmap of the cement sector.
Organized for the first time in 2016 in the Netherlands, the Circular Economy Hotspot aims to highlight the circular economy practices of the host city and country. Its international and diverse perspective promotes the exchange of ideas and experiences between local authorities, companies, researchers, citizens and industry leaders participating in each version.
