A few days ago, representatives of Ciment Català attended the Europe Forum on Carbon Capture & Storage (CCUS Fòrum), organized by the Global CCS Institute, which this year was held in Brussels. The CCUS Forum is a platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences and knowledge related to carbon capture and storage (CCS, for its acronym in English) in Europe. This event brings together representatives from different fields such as industry, research, government institutions and non-governmental organizations to discuss CCS technologies and policies.
On this occasion, more than 300 people participated. Some topics of discussion were the political conditions necessary to expand the deployment of CCS, the experiences with CCS projects in Europe and the USA or the policies and strategies for the global deployment of CCS.
Ciment Català took the opportunity to create synergies between sectors and to learn about very innovative initiatives that are and will be key to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, a goal to which the Association of Cement Manufacturers of Catalonia has been committed for many years through the Roadmap to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The main objective of the CCUS Forum is to encourage collaboration and learning between the different actors involved in the implementation of the CCS in Europe. Through working sessions, conferences and other activities, it seeks to promote knowledge and understanding of carbon capture and storage technologies, as well as to address the challenges and opportunities presented in this area.
