The dossier on Sustainability in the cement sector, published in Corresponsables, collects the good practices of the industry in this area. The nine groups that operate in Spain have participated in the study, four of which are the companies associated with Ciment Català (Cemex, LafargeHolcim, Portland Valderrivas and Cementos Molins).

The construction industry is a key sector in the strategic value of Spain. However, the depletion of natural resources, as well as the generation of waste and the pressure to seek sustainable solutions are revolutionizing the cement sector. With the aim of adapting to this current situation in which climate change shakes and puts pressure on the society in which we live, the industry is progressing towards the circular economy and the sustainable use of available resources.

The cement industry will make an unprecedented investment in I+D+i between now and 2050 with the aim of innovating, digitizing and modernizing processes so that the sector meets its goal of climate neutrality.
