The General Manager of Energy, Mines and Industrial Security of the Generalitat, Pere Palacín, reiterated the support of the Government to the administrative measures that favor the competitiveness of the sector, at a time when the low activity of the domestic market forces companies to orient themselves to Export if they want to keep factories operational. These support measures include the continuation of authorizations for the energetic recovery of waste, a practice which, in addition to facilitating cheaper fuel in companies, is also an environmental contribution to society as a whole, preventing such waste from going to landfills.
In a meeting with Ciment Català‘s Board of Directors held last May 29, Palacín also analyzed the impact of high electricity prices on the industry (the third most expensive in Europe at the moment). However, this is a matter of State, in which the Generalitat has powers in terms of infrastructure but not in policies for the commercialization of electricity.
