In an interview granted to the EFE agency, and disseminated by numerous media, Ciment Català’s president, Salvador Fernández Capo, has insisted on demanding from the public authorities the availability and necessary authorizations of alternative fuels as a key factor to reduce energy costs of cement manufacturers. Fernández recalled that, given the current situation of the domestic market (which occupies only 18% of the productive capacity of the factories in Catalonia), the sector survives thanks to exports. And to be competitive in this area, industries also need an electric power at an appropriate price.  Read the interview.
